SERICOLOGIA is a reputed journal dedicated to the science of sericulture published by International Sericultural Commission. The journal started publication in the year 1948 from France with the title ‘Journal of Silkworms’ under the auspices of Permanent Commission of Sericultural Congresses held in France, with an intention to reestablish sericulture in the world after the second world war. In 1957, the congress decided to transform this commission into an intergovernmental organization. This led to the birth of the International Sericultural Commission in 1960. The commission continued the publication of the journal which took a new title ‘Sericologia’ (ISSN: 0250-3980) in 1979 by retaining the sub-title as ‘Journal of Silkworms’. Over the years, Sericologia has attained the status of a leading international sericultural science journal. The journal serves as the most effective medium to disseminate technical and scientific knowledge even to the farthest corners of sericultural areas across the globe.

Consequent upon Ms. Ishita Roy, IAS, assuming the charge of Secretary General of ISC, the Headquarters of ISC has been shifted to Bangalore, India and is presently working in the Central Silk Board complex at Madiwala. Coinciding with this shift, the new ISC team ventured into offering a facelift to the journal along with an effort to make the content scientifically more appealing. The first issue of the new-look journal (Vol. 53, No. 1, 2013) from the new Headquarters was released on 30th July 2013.

Sericologia publishes scientific and technical articles in English with French abstracts without charging the publication cost to the authors. The personal and collective associate members of International Sericultural Commission have the privilege of receiving the print issues of Sericologia regularly. Articles submitted to Sericologia should carry original contributions of scientific research (basic or applied), discoveries, current developments, technical information or reviews on key areas of sericulture. Sericologia enjoys a wider readership of scientists, academicians, researchers, students and industry partners worldwide with a steady growth in circulation. The journal is supported by an editorial board consisting of eminent scientists from different continents. A large pool of leading academicians and scientists serve as peer reviewers of the journal.
